EuroBasket 2013: gold medal goes to France, Slovenia comes 5th

Last night France won the final match of the EuroBasket championship that has been happening in Slovenia for the last three weeks. By beating Lithuania 80:66 France won its first European title. 5,5 million people in France watched on TV their team win its first major European title.  After losing in the finals againt Spain two years ago and a bronze medal in 2005, the French team finally made it.

After beating Croatia, Spain won the bronze medal, Croatia came forth and Slovenia fifth. Tony Parker, France's leader for the past ten years, finished as the tournament's top scorer and was named the EuroBasket 2013 MVP.
